10-TIPS FOR RESUME WRITING
You only have one chance to make a first impression!

Use these simple rules for developing a resume:

  1. Include as much contact information as possible to make it easy for employers to reach you
  2. Include an overview or list your qualifications specific to the job you are applying for
  3. Use bullet style (•) to make your resume reader-friendly
  4. List your employment information in order of importance to the reader: title/position, name of employer, city/state of employer, dates of employment
  5. Employment history should be chronological order, starting with the most recent position held
  6. Use verbs to describe your abilities, skills and accomplishments: achieved, gained, performed, produced, increased, developed, etc.
  7. Always be truthful and don’t include negative information
  8. Ensure your resume is concise, easy to read and has a sharp a focus
  9. Include relevant education, certifications and training
  10. When possible, use key words from the ad in your cover letter and resume to demonstrate why you are the best candidate for the job
